Raven Hurtado, a hairstylist at Maxine Salon in Chicago, says Valentine’s Day hairstyles are special because you can choose soft and romantic styles for a sweet date night or get creative with fun hairstyles for Galentine’s Day.

1_Tousled Bun

Margot Robbie looks amazing as always, especially with this beautiful tousled bun hairstyle at the “Barbie” European premiere. Hurtado thinks it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day because it’s romantic and gentle.

“To get this style, curl your hair loosely with a Trademark Beauty Curling Iron (available on amazon.com) with a 1 1/4 inch barrel,” she suggests. 

“Then, add Oribe Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray (available on amazon.com) for volume and texture.” Put all your hair into a ponytail, leaving out your fringe for a soft touch. Take pieces from the ponytail, twist them, and wrap them around to create a loose, textured bun. Pull some hair from underneath for a relaxed finish.

To achieve this look, Hurtado recommends straightening your hair with a flat iron and using a boar bristle brush, like the diane Boar Wave Brush, to brush your hair up into a high ponytail. Use some gel to make your hair look smooth and sleek. Once your ponytail is secured, take a small section of hair and wrap it around the hair tie to hide it. Spray hairspray all over to keep everything in place. For a cute flip at the end of your ponytail, use the flat iron.
